By Bion Bion
It has been a very panicky situation in the country as the news of an Italian being the first occurance of Coronavirus in Nigeria, as doubt filled the country’s state of preparedness to contain the virus but Lagos State Ministry of health has given a proof that the virus can’t survive here because the environment will not tolerate such virus, it has to go as Ebola ran away from Nigeria soonest.
The recent reports that the patient had complained about the state of the isolation centre and attempted to escape, made Nigerians jittery about our health facility.
A tour around the Lagos state infectious disease hospital shows how the facility looks like and how much the Lagos State government is prepared in case of an outbreak.
See photos below:

Beds in a tent in case there is an overflow of patients
A mobile clinic that can contain to total of 30 beds, 15 bed in each compartment
Biosecurity level 3 laboratory, where coronavirus test is carried out. This facility can test for other viruses.
Earlier in the week, a viral picture showed the Lagos state commissioner for health and the medical director of mainland general hospital talking to the patient, the picture increased fear from the public. The medical director explained that the distance between them and the patient was more than two meters, which is a perfect distance between anyone and a person confirmed to have tested positive for the virus.
However, the medical director has explained that the health facility is made up of different categories namely isolation 1 and isolation 2, with a total of 28 beds in both isolation wards.
Great hope for Nigerians!
