Chief (Sir) Victor Umeh, (Ohamadike), former National Chairman of APGA and former Senator of the Federal Republic Nigeria has declared that Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo is capable and worthy to succeed Governor Willie Obiano.
Chief Umeh made this assertion while speaking at the official inauguration of the Campaign Committee Council of APGA at the Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, Anambra State.
The former senator said the leadership of the party was unanimous in its decision in throwing its full weight behind Soludo as APGA gubernatorial candidate for the November 6, governorship election in Anambra State.
He reiterated that the coming gubernatorial election is a special election in the life APGA, adding that the party will triumph without hassles because of the unassailable credentials and popularity of Soludo and his running mate, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim.
He noted that looking at the galaxy of party members present at the inauguration, it was obvious that everyone was ready to work and ensure the continuity of APGA as the ruling party in the state.
He further re-emphasised that the coming election is for the people of Anambra and it will be the people that will elect their governor.
Chief Umeh also reminded the people that everyone should consider him or her self as a member of the Soludo/Ibezim Campaign Council Committee being inaugurated to kick start the process of retaining APGA as the ruling party in the state.
He congratulated the party leadership for the inauguration and commended INEC for restoring Soludo’s name as the authentic gubernatorial candidate of APGA. He equally commended the Nigerian Judiciary for upholding justice and restoring confidence in the nation’s judicial system.
As the chairman of the Peace and Reconciliation Committee, set up by Governor Willie Obiano to reachout and reconcile aggrieved members back to the party, Chief Umeh said the committee has achieved considerable success in this regards.
He further charged every member of the party to close ranks and work towards ensuring Cee Cee Soludo and his running mate, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim emerge victorious at the polls.
