Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has asserted that human capital is the foundation of development.

Governor Soludo stated this while inspecting the ongoing renovation of the Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospital in Njikoka Council Area.

The Governor stressed that his administration understands this on assumption of office. He reiterated that this philosophy necessitated the hiring of five thousand teachers and over three hundred health personnel to end the era of schools without teachers and hospitals without doctors and nurses.

He also reiterated the fact that he was the first Governor in the history of the state to hire such number of workers within nine months in office.

He emphasised that his administration is focused on building people and infrastructure because human capital, according to him, remains the foundation of any society desirous of growth and development. He revealed further that health and education are also given a serious attention in his government.

Governor Soludo described Enugwu-Ukwu as a huge town with four large wards and went on to say that the upcoming State House of Assembly election is critical because of the ongoing developments in the state.

“We are currently training and empowering 5000 youths to become future millionaires. This is the spirit of Anambra.

“For all these developments we are doing in the state to continue, ndi Anambra need to perform their civic duties by voting APGA Candidates in the upcoming State House of Assembly election”. Governor Soludo emphasized.

He stressed on the need for the peoples to vote massively for Hon. Chidi Ibemeka for Njikoka Constituency 1 House of Assembly.

The Governor assured that all the roads he has flagged off will be completed. He further reassured the people that he is not the typical politician who makes promises and fails to keep to it.

He further explained that he has made 40-50% down payments to contractors for all of the road projects that have been initiated, as well as a down payment for the on-going Enugwu General Hospital renovation.

Concluding, the Governor equally reminded the people to show up for the National Census Exercise, which would take place after the election.

Earlier, the Transition Committee Chairman for Njikoka LGA, Chief Clem Aguiyi, expressed gratitude on behalf of the people of Enugwu Ukwu to the Governor. He described the Governor as one of the few people who would embark on a project and physically inspects it to ensure adherence to specifications.

For the APGA Candidate, Njikoka 1 Constituency, Hon Chidi Ibemeka said, the people of Enugwu-Ukwu have been yearning for a distinguished personality to represent them in the House of Assembly for many years. He revealed that the Enugwu Ukwu General Hospital would be transformed into a Specialist service center, with the additional recruitment of four additional doctors, nurses, and pharmacists.
