The Edo State Football Association Board has passed a vote of no-confidence on the State Football Association (F.A) Chairman, Mr. Roland Abu, over his alleged inability to render financial reports, as well as running the affairs of the association as a personal business, among other issues.

 

This was contained In a letter addressed to the General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) notifying it of Abu’s sack, the board specifically accused Abu of autocratic behavior, especially running the Edo FA as if it is a personal business.

The board also alleged irregularities, poor handling and poor conduct of football matters as reasons for his ouster.

 

It reads, “Taking autocratic decision without due process, running Edo F.A as if it’s his personal enterprise.

 

“Since his inception as the Chairman of Edo State Football Association 3 years ago, he has not been able to render financial reports to his Board members even when the Board insisted.

 

“Irregularities, poor handling and poor conduct of football competitions.

 

“Series of uprising petitions, raised by clubs, contestants, and stakeholders as a result of his poor performances, high handedness in handling football matters in the state.

 

“Arising from the above points raised against the current chairman, Edo State Football Association, and for peace to be maintained, the Edo State Football Association Board Members resolved and passed a vote of no confidence on him, Abu Roland, as Chairman, Edo State Football Association”.
