When it was announced that Bukayo Saka wouldn’t be available for the game at the Emirates Stadium earlier today, October 8, due to fitness issues, most Arsenal fans were wondering how coach Mikel Arteta and his boys would survive against coach Pep Guardiola’s men.

Interestingly, Arsenal were able to hold their own throughout the first half as they were able to keep Erling Haaland silent in most parts of the game.

In the second half, Arsenal created a couple of chances but they were not able to bury it bringing to mind that the club’s most lively attacker, Bukayo Saka was not on the pitch.

However, in the 86th minute, Kia Havertz assisted Gabriel Martinelli to score the match-opener and match-winner to the relief of the Gunners fans at the Emirates Stadium.

The slime 1-0 win means that Arsenal have moved ahead of Manchester City to the second spot on the league table with 20 points in 8 games, equal points with first-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
