Police Deploys 5,325 Personnel In Nasarawa

In a bid to ensure adequate security during the Christmas celebration, the Nasarawa State Police Command says it has deployed 5,325 personnel across the 13 Local Government Areas of the state.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Adesina Soyemi, made the disclosure in a press statement made available to journalists through the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Ramhan Nansel, in Lafia on Thursday.

He explained that the Police personnel are to cover highways, worship centres, recreational centres, government infrastructures and to secure the entire residents of the state.

According to the statement, “To ensure that Nasarawa State is secured before, during and after the Christmas celebration, the Police Command has deployed 5,325 personnel across the state.

“Safer highway patrol teams, Anti- kidnapping unit and Anti-robbery teams have been strategically deployed along highways and major roads throughout the state, for the protection and safety of travelers, commuters and other road users, while Anti-cultism unit has also been deployed to monitor cult-related activities.”

CP Soyemi urged Christians in the state to offer prayers for the peace and stability of the state and Nigeria at large while warning all Police personnel to be civil, polite, compassionate and firm in carrying out their duties without compromise.

He appealed to members of the public to always be security conscious, vigilant and report any suspicious incident or happenings that they observe in their localities to the nearest police station.
