OSU 2023: I Will Bring In A Legislature To Revive Sapele Port – Prince Sadjere Igho
Sapele is suppose to be a business hub for investors in Delta state. Since inception of Democracy, 1999 has been very remarkable for non performance of past leaders in Delta state, we have had Representatives from the two(2) local governments; Okpe and Uvwie yet still backward, normally it was suppose to be a rotational process among the 3 Local Government Areas (LGA) whereby Sapele, Okpe and Uwvie will produce Representatives at the federal level respectively but for the past 14 years Okpe has produced once while Uvwie produced Representatives twice and currently Okpe is still the one serving.
If truth be told, it is the turn of Sapele as Uwvie has produce 8 years before and Okpe produce 4 years so they should all give way for Sapele to produce the next Federal House of Representatives member bcos they are like families that is one term for each LGA. For this singular reason, I will lead a team to will ensure that the structure will be put in place to avoid such maltreatment that can lead to conflict as things are to be done properly.
As we speak, Sapele in the entire Delta state having the algorithm power station which generates light for the neighbouring countries within Nigeria which is electricity cannot sincerely boost of electricity in Delta state not even in Sapele where the generation comes from.
Even we as the host community should naturally benefit from what we produce even to other countries and the funniest part is that, these countries we produce electricity for never lacked light or electricity supply for a single minute/day while we that produces the light pay excessively for it yet we don’t enjoy it, this is one thing I think I will definitely correct as I assume office.
Do you know Sapele have seaport, but sadly our seaport is deplated nothing to show for it. Currently we have the Nigerian Navy Training Institute occupying the space which is not suppose to be so.
One of the thing that generates revenue and income to a state is a seaport, Lagos seaport gives them enough money to drive the government and the economy of Lagos state whereas the one in Sapele is a different thing entirely, “I am going to bring in a legislature to revive the Sapele port though some people will say its a big task but I will do it”.
Then when you talk about insecurity, on a weekly basis we lost nothing less than five young persons most times its taking note of and sometimes is unannounced due to insecurity.
Is it the employment you want to talk of, the employment schedule is very poor, our youths are already thrown to the street because our government of today is very irresponsible, they don’t care about the citizens they are meant to serve and protect, all the government is doing today is to train someone on a small scale business without proper guide and development, it is very wrong. You cannot expect a graduate at the end of the day to go and be doing what is not in his own profession to get better result because one cannot give what he/she does not possess, that is what you find in Sapele yet there have been House of Representatives members since 1999.
Is it the development of human mind, in those days Sapele produces skills in terms of sports, music and other entertainment but today there is no development of those skills, “I am going to bring in entertainment training institute to Sapele where young minds will be trained in terms of sports, music, dance, skills and the rest of them.
Sapele is a big brother and I think its high time we bring that big brother to reckon with. There is no Godly presence in Sapele, lets be sincere to ourselves because we have been able to put leaders that believe they dont need the people for anything so they feel free to do whatever they wish to do, too bad!
In those days we have more than 16 to 25 companies in Sapele to mention but few; the African timber and Plywood, Top feed, Delta mill, Eternet all of them have relocated from Sapele because of the poor government policies that drive away investors.
As I assume office as the next Federal Houseof Representative member for Okpe, Sapele and Uwvie, “I will create more enabling environment for investors to return back in Sapele.
