The Agbada Gas plant in River state said to have been completed “100% Nigerian from construction to commissioning” is a testimony worth recognising by industry regulators and the federal government.

According to Engr Edwin Olisa, Director of Construction and Chief Engineer of MAKON Engineering Technical Services Ltd, the Nigerian firm credited with the feat, the Agbada Gas Plant is the second gas facility in Nigeria that has been successfully completed and commissioned by Nigerians with fully Nigerian content.

The first is the Utorogu NAG 2 plant in Delta State, also known as Utorogu Gas Plant Phase 2 which was delivered timely also by MAKON which Project team was equally led by Engr Edwin Olisa.

Before now all oil and gas facilities were constructed and fully delivered by foreign companies.

Nigeria has what it takes to develop if the right people are appointed/employed to deliver on any given project.

Nigeria is blessed with highly diverse human and natural resources to develop our oil and gas sector if encouraged by the relevant authorities.

This is the valued lesson to take from yet another rare feat by MAKON in the delivery of the Agbada Gas Plant.
