However, Gov. Obaseki has taken to the street to canvass for votes, convincing indegenes of Edo state to vote for his party PDP ahead of the Saturday election polls as his fate became shaky after observing the way the pendulum swings to the favour of the opposition party in the last election on February 25th, 2023.

The incumbent decides to dust his cap and hit the street to canvass for more votes for his party PDP as the game is no longer as usual, where incumbent decides where the vote goes and been that Oshiomhole as a street man has done a lot of sensitisation which has benched the fate of PDP in the state therefore will need more effort to be able to gain ground this time.

In that Governor Obaseki will be needing enough votes to control the 24 members of Assembly as there are possibility that the governorship election will not hold in 2024 so they need to ensure they get majority seats so as to avoid impeachment.
