Robert Lewandowski was the night’s hero as Barcelona came from behind twice to hold Inter Milan to a 3-3 draw at the Spotify Camp Nou to help extend the Catalans’ stay in this year’s UEFA Champions League.

Ousmane Dembélé scored the only first-half goal despite several attempts from both sides to find the back of the net in the Group C encounter as the first 45 minutes ended 1-0 in favour of the La Liga giants.

Nicolò Barella equalised for Inter in the early minutes of the second half before Lautaro Martínez scored in the 63rd minute to put Inter in the lead for the first time in the intense encounter.

Lewandowski levelled the match for Barcelona with his 82nd-minute strike before Robin Gosens returned the visitors’ lead seven minutes later to give Inter the lead for the second time in the game.

As the match got closer to a conclusion, with everything at stake, Barcelona continued with their determination to equalise for the second time in the fixture. It paid off when Lewandowski levelled the game for Barcelona in the added time to earn an important point.

A defeat on the night would have sent Barcelona out of the competition – the Catalans currently sit third in the group with four points, while Inter occupy the second spot with seven points.

Meanwhile, in the other Group C fixture, Bayern Munich defeated Viktoria Plzeň 4-2 on Wednesday night to advance to the knockout stage.

First brace by Leon Goretzka, and a goal each from Sadio Mané and Thomas Müller ensured Bayern Munich comfortably secured a 4-2 victory in the one-sided match at the Doosan Arena in Plzen, Czech.
