JUST In: Tinubu Approves Establishment Of Federal University Of Medical Sciences In Kwale, Six Others
President Bola Tinubu on Friday approved the immediate establishment of seven new federal tertiary institutions including the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Kwale in Delta State and Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi, Adamawa State.

The President also announced the conversion two colleges of education to federal universities of education with three fresh colleges of education being established across the country.
The President’s approval was contained in a statement by the Assistant Director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education, Obilor-Duru Augustina Okechi.
According to the statement, Tinubu approved the conversion of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, Ondo State as well as Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, Owerri, Imo State to Federal Universities of Education.
Similarly, Federal College of Education, Ilawe Ekiti, Ekiti State; Federal College of Education, Ididep, Ibiono, Akwa Ibom State and Federal College of Education (Technical), Yauri, Kebbi State were named as the new Colleges of Education.
The statement reads: “In line with the present administration’s commitment to ensure continuity in governance and policy consistency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) has approved the staggered establishment of the Four Colleges of Education to be converted to Federal Universities of Education, Two (2) Federal Universities of Agriculture, Two (2) Federal Universities of Medical and Health Sciences and Five Colleges of Education.
“The establishment and conversion of these institutions is a further demonstration of President Tinubu’s Education for the Renewed Hope Agenda and will help in improving access to tertiary education in the country”.
Recall that the immediate past Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has facilitated the establishment of the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Kwale, during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
