The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of general elections has suspended election in Enugu East Senatorial District.
According to the INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu who disclosed this information to the media during the media briefing on Friday in Abuja, FCT.
According to him, the election in the senatorial district earlier slated for Saturday, February 25, 2023, has been moved to March 11, 2023.
Yakubu revealed that the postponement was neccessary in the district covers six local government areas that are pegged for the murder of the Labour Party (LP)’s senatorial candidate for the district, Oyibo Chukwu as better precautions are to be taken to avert such sad incidents.
