Following the suspension of the Peoples Democratic Party Chairman from the National, the leadership of party PDP has decided not to take a longer time but chooses to replace the Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu with one of his deputies, Amb Umar Damagum.
Damagum, is said to have been holding the position of the Deputy National Chairman (North), while Ayu was the chairman for years but henceforth Damagum will occupy the seat as an acting Chairman to his capacity for now.
It was gathered that a Benue High Court sitting in Makurdi on Monday has ordered Ayu Iyorchia after he was restrained to step aside for alleged anti-party activities and failing to pay his membership dues and following a suit filed by Igyorov Council Ward which is his ward in Gboko local government area of Benue State.
