IZHI NNODO NEW YAM FESTIVAL: RT HON. CHINEDU OGAH ATTENDS THE OCCASION, CELEBRATES WITH THE PEOPLE

The Member, Federal House of Representatives Ikwo/ Ezza-South Constituency, Rt Hon (Comrade) Chinedu Ogah (OON), has commended and celebrated with the people of Izzi Nnodo Clan.

Ogah who was represented by Prof J.N Afiukwa of Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu Alike Ikwo, commended the people at the Grand finale of the 2023 ojiji Izhi New Yam Festival at Nnodo Ekumemyi where visitors and dignitaries gathered to celebrate with Izzi people.

 

In his goodwill message, Hon. Ogah commended the organizing committee, the sponsors, and traditional rulers for giving the event a memorable facelift.

According to Ogah, “on this historic and nostalgic occasion of the Festival of the Izzi Nnodo, it is most fitting and appropriate for me, as the a Federal Law Maker in Ebonyi State, to convey my warmest felicitations and greetings to Izzi Nnodo, on behalf of my family and constituents.

 

I equally pay glowing tribute to the founding fathers of Izzi Nnodo upon whose blood, toil and ideals it was established. We are grateful to them for the selflessness and good leadership they exhibited and gave the area an identity over the years.

It is government’s expectation that the people use the Ojiji Izhi New Yam Festival celebration to epitomize the aspirations of the government, whose overriding policies revolve around social development, the private sector, human resource development and good governance.

The event witnessed the presence of government dignitaries, including the Ebonyi State Governor, His Excellency, RT. Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, and his wife, Her Excellency, Chief Mrs Maudeline Ukamaka Nwifuru, the Speaker, Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Ije Moses Odunwa, the former Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Martin Nwanchor Elechi, Prof J.N Afiukwa, Hon. Chinedu Nwali, Hon Maxwell Nwali, Hon. Celestine Nwele, Hon. Friday Nwakpu and many others.

 

Comrade Ogah, however, presented a cow, 20 tubers of yam, Kola nut, Potash and others, in line with the demands of the culture and tradition of the people.
