A very distinguished business mogul and political stakeholder, High Chief Higgins Peters, has been extolled as an epitome and idol of Democracy.
He was honoured recently in Calabar by a formidable political support group tagged PRINCE OTU’S ADVOCATES at a well attended event which took place on Sunday, July 9th, 2023.
This recognition came as a result of his spirited efforts, struggles and unflinching commitment to the Back-South Agenda, which was the political philosophy of His Excellency, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade.
Chief Higgins Peters had his firm stands with the Ben Ayade led administration to ensure that power returned back to the South against all odds.
He is also a noted philanthropist, community opinion moulder, staunch supporter of the wheels of justice, fair play and equity as well as ensuring political equilibrium in the political spectrum of Cross River State.
In his response at the event Chief Higgins dedicated the prestigious Award to the politically conscious people of Cross River North and he pledged to continue to do the much he can to stabilize the process for the sake of posterity. He reiterated that he will continue to extend his undiluted support and solidarity to the present administration of His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu.
He noted that the successes of the All Progressives Congress in the governorship race was heavily facilitated by the the political personnel and very revered public profile of Governor Bassey Otu, adding that it was only natural that such a good and sellable candidate be supported by all and sundry.
Therefore, the honour done to him is not misplaced as it is a recognition of hardwork, dedication to a noble political cause and an encouragement to other party faithfuls.
High Chief Higgins Peters, miraculous entrance into the political landscape of Cross River State through Governor Ben Ayade to become a widely acclaimed political figure, beyond that Higgins Peters is also an astute businessman and philanthropist and the entire Cross River Northern Senatorial District and Yala Local Government Area recognizes his contributions to the growth and development of the area.
