The discussion was moderated by Bukola Adubi, Chief Executive Officer, MicCom Cables & Wires Ltd. The panelists are Ifeanyi Ukoha, Ag. Director, Finance and Personnel Management, NCDMB, A Beneficiary of the Women in Oil and Gas Fund. Victor T. Ezenwoko, Country Head – Nigeria, Daystar Power,Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, Director General, Energy Commission of Nigeria.

 

This session talked about the innovative local content strategies that could be implemented to drive production and bolster the sector’s economic impact as well as the plans to be explored to expand the NOGICD Act to derive local content opportunities in the renewable energy sectors as well as the $20m Women in oil and gas fund has been successfully accessed by 3 firms. The session also talked about what could be done to support and encourage more women entrepreneurs in the industry.

Also as part of the conversation was how Nigeria’s energy mix continues to evolve, what emerging opportunities exist for indigenous companies and how can they be harnessed was also discussed and the support to be given to aspiring indigenous operators in the downstream sector.

 

Mr Ifeanyi Ukoha Ag. Director, Finance and Personnel Management, NCDMB during session highlighted that collaboration and consolidation is key in the industry, hence the Board is still open to collaborate and expand on the Women in Oil and Gad Fund as well as other funds already available.
