Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Monday evening kidnapped an expatriate working with one of the construction companies in Edo state.
It was gathered that the gunmen killed his police orderly before kidnapping him.
The expatriate who works with Hartland construction company was supervising work on the Idegu-Awain road in Etsako West local government of the state when he was kidnapped.
An eyewitness said the gunmen numbering five emerged from the bush, shot and killed the police orderly, then abducted their victim and fled into the bush.
It was also gathered that the police arrived later to evacuate the corpse to the mortuary.
A source in the community said vigilantes were currently combing the bushes in the area in search of the abducted expatriate.
When contacted, the state police command’s public relations officer, Kongtons Bello, said he was yet to be briefed on the issue and that he would make inquiries and get back to the reporter but he was yet to do so as at the time of filing this report.
