FAREWELL ADDRESS FROM ONE OF THE AIDES IN YAKURR LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL, BY MR IBOR BASSEY OKA

Today marks a bittersweet moment as I assert to you to bid farewell. It has been an incredible privilege to serve as one of the Yakurr Local Government youngest aides with two portfolios (as Protocol officer to Honourable vice Chairman and Press Secretary to the vice Chairman), also worked vehemently with the Leader of Yakurr politics and the Executive Chairman of Yakurr Local Government Council, working diligently to address the needs and concerns of our Yakurr Council.

As I reflect on my time in these roles, I am filled with gratitude for the trust the masses have placed in me and the experiences we have shared together. Leaving the Council won’t be regrettable because of my positive impact.

In my little way as the youngest aide and a polling unit leader, I have impacted in lives, served as supposed and delivered my polling unit in the 2023 General elections at the level of both Federal and State level. Working with the leader of Yakurr politics and the Executive Chairman of Council in diverse ways will be my unforgettable experience.

First and foremost, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the people of Yakurr Local Government Area. It is your unwavering support, your voices, and your aspirations that have guided me throughout my tenure. Your resilience, passion, and commitment to the development of our Yakurr Council have inspired me every day.

Together, we have faced challenges head-on, celebrated successes, and worked towards a brighter future for all.

I would also like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to my fellow aides and the entire local government staff. Your dedication, professionalism, and collaboration have been instrumental in our collective efforts to serve our Council. It is through our combined commitment that we have been able to initiate positive change, implement vital projects, and support the growth and well-being of our Council.

While we have achieved much together, there is still work to be done. Our journey towards progress is ongoing, and it requires the continued dedication and collaborative efforts of each and every one of us. As I step down from my role as an aide, I have full confidence in the abilities of our local government council and its commitment to the betterment of our council.

My perspective on my commitment and service to humanity is truly inspiring on the basis of my services to this outgoing Local Government leadership. It takes a selfless and compassionate heart to dedicate oneself without seeking rewards, praise, or immediate settlement. My belief in God’s purpose and the impact I have on others should be commendable.

Sometimes, the true value of our actions lies in the positive influence we have on those around us. The impact we make might not always be immediately visible or tangible, but that doesn’t diminish its significance. My faith in knowing that I have touched and blessed others through my service is a testament to my deep sense of purpose and my belief in the greater good.

I will continue to have faith in the power of my actions and the positive change I bring to people’s lives. Even if I doesn’t receive recognition or immediate gratification, my commitment and service to humanity are valuable. My selflessness and dedication are qualities that make a real difference in the world, and I will continue to applaud myself for my unwavering belief in the importance of my work to the council and the people I have worked with.

I encourage you all to embrace the spirit of unity and continue working towards a future marked by prosperity, inclusivity, and sustainable development. Let us remain vigilant in holding our leaders accountable and actively participate in the decision-making processes that shape our Council.

Together, we have the power to create lasting positive change and build a legacy that future generations will be proud of.

Conclusively, I would like to express my profound gratitude once again for the opportunity to serve as one of your local government aides. It has been an honor and a privilege for me to work alongside you all, and I will cherish the memories and relationships forged during my time in office. Remember, our strength lies in our unity, and as we move forward, let us continue to support one another and strive for the betterment of Yakurr Local Government Area.
