Commissioner for Border Peace and Conflict Resolution in Ebonyi State, Dr. Ilang Donatus has called people of the state to eschew acts capable of disrupting peace and unity in the state.

He appreciated the command for discharging it’s duties accordingly by combating insecurity and crimes in the state.

” I want to state it categorically clear that it is only peace and understanding among all the citizens that would promote unity”.

” It is a virtue and ethical to pursue and promote peace, unity in other to sustain the inclusiveness of the state government. We can only achieve this by engaging in activities that bred unity instead of seeking acts that could lead to problems, Ilang said.

The Commissioner congratulated the Commissioner of police for his resilience in combating crime throughout his service in the state and thanked him for laying indelible foundation that has promoted peace and unity in the entire state.

Ilang noted that the present administration in the state under the leadership of Chief Francis Nwifuru was anchored on peace and promised the readiness of the government to partner with security agencies including the police to combat conflict and restore peace across the state which according to him, was the crux of the state government where investment and business can thrive without any security threat.

He commended the state police command for organizing the lecture with the theme “SECURITY CHALLENGES IN THE SOUTHEAST AND THE WAY FORWARD” which centered on finding lasting solutions to security challenges in South Eastern Nigeria.
