Around 6am on Sunday a tanker loaded with diesel fell and spilt its content at Adura, Abeokuta expressway, Lagos.
The Mack truck conveying 45,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) tumbled and on the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway owing to the bad state of the road.
The driver explained that he started his trip around 5am to deliver diesel worth 39 million naira to Dangote Cement Plant, Ibese but tumbled at Adura on the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway owing to the bad state of the road.
His boss, Mr Kelvin Sule while speaking with Independent said that he received a report of the incident around 6am.
He said, “by the driver’s explanation, he said he was trying to escape a car that was dodging pothole and as he tried to do that the incident happened”.
In the early hours of the morning, residents of the area and motorists were seen carting away its content but the fire service, Lagos Response Unit (LRU) and the police swiftly swung into action to make ensure that the incident doesn’t lead to loss of lives and properties.
