…ATTACKERS FATALLY WOUNDED, SUFFERED VARIOUS DEGREES OF INJURIES
…COMPLETELY OVER-POWERED BY GALLANT SECURITY FORCES.
…RAN AWAY FOR THEIR LIVES, ABANDONED 1 AK 47 RIFLE, MAGAZINES, AMMUNITION, MOTORCYCLES AND 5 VEHICLES
The attempt by some unknown gunmen to embarrass the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), on-going peaceful campaign rally across the 21 local government areas in Anambra State met with a resounding failure at Ihiala on Tuesday.
The attackers who came to Ihiala where APGA was supposed to have a campaign rally with the intention to scare supporters away, met with strong security forces who gallantry repelled them with superior gun fire.
The attackers were completely overpowered prompting them to run away with various degrees of injuries heavily inflicted on them by the gallant security forces.
In the process of fleeing for their lives, the attackers abandoned 1 Ak 47 Rifle, Magazine, Ammunition, Motorcycles and about 5 Vehicles they came with for their evil operation to kill and maim innocent people.
While this incident was taking place, both Governor Willie Obiano and Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, APGA gubernatorial candidate were at Ogbaru Local Government Area on a campaign train.
Consequently, neither the Governor’s convoy nor APGA campaign train was attacked.
The woeful failure by the attackers to embarrass the APGA campaign train by scaring people away and creating voting apathy in the process, has shown the preparedness of Governor Willie Obiano to deal decisively with trouble makers in the state.
It is therefore advisable that these people who are bent on formenting trouble in Anambra State should think twice by embracing peace!
