ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNMENT HONOURS SOLUDO FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE GROWTH OF EDUCATION IN THE STATE

Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA), gubernatorial candidate on Thursday, September 2, 2021, received a Certificate of Honour from the Government of Anambra State for his contributions to the growth of education in the state.
Cee Cee Soludo received the certificate of honour from the Executive Governor of the State, Chief (Dr) Willie Obiano at the celebration of “Anambra at 30, A day with Anambra Education Builders” under the auspices of the State Ministry of Basic Education, at the Hollywood Events Centre, Awka.
The Certificate read that Cee Cee Soludo was being ‘appreciated and honoured in recognition of his Contributions in Building Education’ in Anambra State.
In her address, the State Commissioner for Basic Education, Prof Kate Omenugha paid glowing tributes to Governor Willie Obiano for being an ‘Education Friendly Governor’ whose education policy has taken the state to the highest level ever imagined in the entire nation.
The commissioner commended the governor for the educational policy which has reflected in the way and manner students from the state have continued to excel in winning awards and international laurels outside the country in major world educational competitions.
She further asserted that because Obiano’s educational policy, the state has moved from 60% to 70% of students that can now access university education annually.
In his remarks, Governor Willie Obiano said on his coming to office, his major policy thrust was to make Anambra State an investment destination and a hub for economic and commercial activities. He said this policy was to make the State a business friendly environment where indigenes and non-indigenes alike could thrive in any business endeavour.
Governor Obiano further said this policy was hinged on four pillars of development, namely, Agriculture, Oil and Gas, Trade and Commerce, and Industrialization. For the full realisation of these policies thrust, the governor stated education was made key and very essential in the State
He described education as an ‘enabler,’ a means to an end, which every responsible government must take seriously.
He expressed gratitude to the Hon Commissioner for Basic Education for helping to deepen the state educational policy which has resulted in the monumental achievements recorded in that sector.
The governor commended Prof Soludo and other awardees for the honour bestowed on them by the state government and urge them not to relent in their efforts in further contributing to the growth of education in the state.
Speaking to the press after receiving the certificate, Cee Cee Soludo commended Governor Willie Obiano for his outstanding leadership qualities and sterling performance in the educational sector. He expressed his deep gratitude to the Government and people of Anambra State for the honour bestowed on him.
Chief Victor Umeh (Ohamadike) who gave the vote of thanks, equally commended Governor Willie Obiano for his sterling achievements in the educational sector and the awardees for their commitment and contributions to the growth of education in the state.
