…SAYS ANAMBRA WON’T BE HANDED OVER TO GUBER CANDIDATE ANSWERABLE TO GOD-FATHERS
Rising from their global meeting which held over the weekend, Anambra Indigenes under the auspices of Anambra Diasporans Think Tank global Assembly have warned that Anambra State will not be handed over to a gubernatorial candidate answerable to godfathers in the forthcoming governorship election in the State_
This was part of the resolutions reached by the global body from 13 countries, after unanimously adopting Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, gubernatorial candidate as their preferred choice for governor of Anambra State.
A Press release issued by the group and their resolutions read thus:
“The Anambra indigenes in the diaspora held a global meeting where they considered the future of the state, especially as it concerns the up-coming gubernatorial election in the state.
The primary aim of the assembly was underpinned on adopting a candidate that has pedigree for the next gubernatorial election in Anambra state come November 2021.
The Assembly consist of Anambra indigenes from the United Kingdom, America, Germany, Canada, Russia, Hong Kong, South Africa, Sweden, Australia, Austria, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Isreal and India, who came together to deliberate and adopt a candidate for the forthcoming Anambra governorship election.
The assembly made up of Professionals, technocrats, Clergy, career personnel, businessperson and Political class; consequently resolved as follows:
1.That the Disporan Indigenes appreciate and recognise all the INEC accredited political parties that have presented candidates for the November 2021 gubernatorial election in Anambra state.
2. That Anambra state would not, and will never be handed over to gubernatorial candidate that is answerable to godfathers. That godfatherism concept is a foregone approach in Anambra state leadership.
3.That Anambra state is in high need of good governance to be orchestrated through an individual with proven integrity, pedigree, and proactive developmental goals.
4. That the coming Anambra state gubernatorial election holding in November 2021 should be based more on efficient and proven individual who will be empowered to lead Anambra people. Such a person to lead Anambra state to the next level, will be adopted, supported, voted and sworn-in for the betterment of Anambra state.
5. That Political Parties’ differences need to be put aside in order to actualise excellent development of Anambra state. Leveraging on long term sustainable vision.
6. The entire Diasporan during their brain storming and think Tank session as well as the assessments held during the assembly reached a consensus.
Based on the above indices, the Diasporan Assembly unanimously reached a conclusion and adopted Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, as the preferred gubernatorial candidate to lead Anambra state to the next phase.
7. The Diasporan recognise that Political parties and allegiance may differ. However, the Diasporan uphold the concept of the unity of purpose and accomplishments in this matter.
8. The Diasporan, therefore overwhelmingly, request the entire Anambra state to align with, and support the adopted candidacy of Prof Chukwuma Soludo as the next governor of Anambra State.
Towards this end, the Diasporan are initiating synergy with all the Traditional Rulers, President Generals (PGs) of town Unions, President of organisations, the church and religious leaders, the workers, traders, business persons, Labour unions, transporters, students, women. Also all indigenes of Anambra state, employed and unemployed to come on board and make Anambra state great by supporting and voting the adopted candidate, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, as the next Governor of Anambra state.
