Presidency 2023: Adebayo, Gbagi Attends Arewa Joint Committee Forum, Advises Rotational Rule Of One Term North, One Term South Be Maintained
Recently at the interactive session on the 2023 presidency anchored by the Arewa Joint Committee Forum which took place at Kaduna on 15th October, 2022, the Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo and the Delta state Governorship Candidate for 2023, Olorogun (Barr) Kenneth Gbagi FNIM OON jointly made clear their stand as it concerns the coming 2023 presidential election considering the current problems facing the country.
The core industrialist and criminologist, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi who just earned himself a National Honours Award of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) as a detrabalised man of clear character who have contributed immensely in the state and nation building.
Gbagi who also believed in a simple policy of “what is worth doing is worth doing well” took this great opportunity to profer solution to the worrisome situation of the country which needs true leadership of Social Democratic Party (SDP) with focus to encourage peaceful cohabitation, come 2023.
Also Gbagi in his knowledge of the existing rotational rules of one term North, one term South has stamp his ground on the zoning process of presidency ahead of the 2023 presidential race as that will encourage coexistence, peace, a level ground for fair play and encourage growth of the nation’s economy with proper security.
In his statement during a chat with Kaftan TV he expressed, “Do not forget that SDP came as the oldest political party that is existing today in Nigeria with MKO Abiola, having won the freest and fairest election in Nigeria.
“Nigeria owed the Social Democratic Party SDP a kind return to bring SDP back to government because they voted the SDP in the man of MKO Abiola and with the presidential candidate Prince Adewole which in my own opinion is a win-win”.
“If we were all to agree as a country that what we need is, integrity and character, Nigeria would have moved on and all these issues we have, will not happen. We agreed on one term north and one term south
We all have families whether been north or been south. The dishonesty in this relationship, is that north is finishing now, it is the turn of the South. It will not matter whether Adewole is a member of my party or Obi is a member of another party. These are the only two presidential candidates that are from the south.
“If you are to be honest to yourself, how are you going to stop the issue of Boko Haram, insecurity, education and health? We just have to go back to the drawing board where we lived together as a people.
“That agreement which of course is sacrosanct, is one north, one south irrespective of the party, north is finishing now. South will have to do its turn. It will come back to north and in that way, the best material among will emerge”.
The former Minister of State Education thereby insist on the rule of zoning to be followed strictly this 2023 in choosing the next President of Nigeria.
At the end, It was noted that many other dignitaries were in attendance to mention but few are; the presidential candidate of APC, Ahmed BolaTinubu, the PDP presidential candidate, Alh. Atiku Abubakar and others.
While the Arewa Joint Committee Forum was said to have created enabling environment for many dignitaries that matters to deliberate on important issues that may affect the country in the coming election which gave room for solution from those who are in the know how to air their views on steps that will better the nation in general especially to ensure peace and cohabitation this 2023 election.
