President Buhari led administration has no hand in the relocation of oil companies from Warri to other States in my opinion. Major oil companies have started moving out of Warri since 2003, when former Governor James Ibori was the Governor of Delta State, and former President Obasanjo was in charge then.
At that period, we were at the height of youth violence in Delta State. I warned that Shell (SPDC) would leave if nothing was done to address the youth violence. But then, they were hailing Ibori as the “Odidigboigbo of Africa”. But where did all of that lead the State to?
The best way to attract oil companies back is to make Warri city and the entire Delta state habitable, and peaceful with built infrastructure, and also stop everything that encourages youth violence and unnecessary extortions from land developers and business owners.
