It is foolhardy for the comedian Ukrainian President to fight a war he can’t win just to please the US and the West, the real instigators of the crisis.

It is equally shocking to find ignorant Africans taking sides with Ukraine when even in crisis they are exerting racial discrimination against Africans.

This avoidable crisis is another hard lesson for Africa to know that unless we develop ourselves, no nation has our interest at heart.

The Russia-Ukraine war should teach Africans a huge lesson, that in the US/Russia/European politics of global power bragging rights, Africans cannot count on any permanent interest or side. None of these power blocks, including China and the rest of Asian countries, consider the interest of Africa as paramount. This is why those Africans castigating Vladimir Putin got it all wrong.

Imagine, the Western media deliberately refuse to capture and show that Africans are not being allowed to leave Ukraine by Ukrainians, Poland and other neighbouring nations who are however allowing Asians and Europeans to cross to Poland.

Olufemi Olu-Kayode corroborated that, “Poland and the other European nations that border Ukraine are allowing fleeing Ukrainians, Indians, Arabs and other nationals to cross their border and take refuge in their countries. The only people they are barring are black Africans and right now there are hundreds of black African students stranded on the Polish border.

“Worst of all is the fact that the Ukrainians themselves are not allowing the black Africans to board the free trains that they have provided for Ukrainians and other nationals to leave Ukraine and flee to Europe.

“There are reports that the Ukrainian police got on these free trains and removed all the Africans saying they had to stay whilst they allowed nationals from all other countries, including India etc, to proceed. That is how low down the ladder Africans are now. It is so sad and I am glad that the BBC has reported it.

“Treating Africans with such contempt is unacceptable. Do our people not have the right to flee from Russian bombs and carnage too and save their lives? This is nothing but pure racism and it is evil. Even when they are fighting and people are dying the Europeans are still denying some people access to their borders simply because of their skin colour. How wicked can they be? Where are all the pro-Ukrainian African voices now?”

This war could have been avoided if selfish political and economic interests were not involved. Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, is dead wrong to have allowed the war caused by their selfish interests to escalate to killing his people in a crisis being instigated by the US/West. Russia and US are the masters of the game. Any nation playing willing tool to be used to inflame the conflict between these two world powers becomes the proverbial grass that suffers when two elephants fight.

As Emmanuel Ojameruaye noted, “Independent opinion polls show the majority of Russians like Putin. He would not have stayed in power this long if he was not liked by the majority. Forget the blackmail and campaign of calumny against him. He is not a saint but no one can deny that he is a strong and well/informed leader.

“These same people emphasizing democracy (a euphemism for western neo-colonialism) support “dictatorships” when their economic interests are at stake and they colonized other countries for many years, enslaved other people and some are still denying Blacks basic rights such as making it difficult for them to vote.

“China is not democratic but its rate of development in recent years surpasses that of all so-called democracy. See what democracy has done to Nigeria. What people need are good leaders. Democracy does not always guarantee that a good leader will emerge.”

The US criticising Russia’s anger against Ukraine is like the kettle calling the pot black. The US is the worst rights violator in the world, the worst invader of sovereign countries without justification except for her selfish national interest. Who authorised them when they invaded Iraq to kill Saddam Hussein, just to take their oil in the name of a nursing weapon of mass destruction.

Who authorised the US when they invaded Libya and killed one of Africa’s most powerful unifying forces, Muammar Gaddafi with a strong national economy that supports the citizenry without indebtedness to any foreign power? The US is the most untrusted ally any nation should rely on.

A clear knowledge of the Monroe Doctrine meant no informed persons can be swayed by the public relations blitz of both sides. The truth is in the middle. This war could easily be avoided with Ukraine remaining neutral. The US will not allow Russia to set up military bases in the neighbouring country of Mexico. They would resist it with all force.

Africans should learn to depend on themselves and build their countries. Nigerians stranded in Ukraine migrated there to study or find greener pastures. If Nigerian universities and other higher institutions are well established, I don’t think Nigerians will be in that country. Political leaders and private sector fronts send their children to the UK, US, Canada to study after destroying the Nigerian education system.

I don’t think the children of our politicians and their billionaire business fronts’ children are in Ukraine. But I know of many local traders in Warri, Delta state who send their children to Ghana, South Africa, Republic of Benin/Cotonou and Ukraine to avoid ASUU strikes. Today they are stranded. Putin, Biden and Zelensky have

nothing to lose if Africans die in the conflict in Ukraine. Nigeria must wise up.

The closest allies of the US and Europe/West are the United Arab Emirates(UAE)/Dubai, Kuwait, Japan and Saudi Arabia who don’t practice real democracy but are united with them because of their strong economies. Yet, Africans, particularly Nigerians are here busy arguing what democracy is all about. US/Russia and Europe/West are only interested in African countries for available economic benefits they can derive from them.
