ZIK GBEMRE EXPLAINS HIS ANGER AGAINST UPU-UK, UPUNA ANNUAL CONVENTION ORGANISERS, AS FAILURE TO HOLD DISGRACEFUL URHOBO POLITICAL OFFICEHOLDERS TO ACCOUNT, 

Since 2023 till date I have been observing that URHOBO PROGRESS UNION in Diaspora especially in UK and US whenever they organise their annual convention it is always flooded by our irresponsible Urhobo politicians.

No qualms if the so-called Urhobo politicians are invited. My worry is that at no time do these organisers hold questions and answers sessions to confront their Urhobo political officeholders who appear as Special Guests to account for their contribution to the development of Urhobo land.

You Urhobos living in UK & US see how politicians over there use public resources to develop those advanced countries which is the opposite of what is happening back home in Delta and Nigeria.

These so-called Urhobo politicians who were majorly paupers before they joined government have amassed wealth stolen from the commonwealth. They owned mansions everywhere yet there are no good roads to their communities.

They cause hardship and induce poverty in Nigeria. Is it not time for Urhobos in Diaspora to shame these irresponsible Urhobo politicians? The merriment in Urhobo gatherings when these wasteful politicians are recognised and praise is appaling.

Ighoyota Amori is always shuttling from one Urhobo convention to another to showcase his stolen wealth. Who was Amori before 1999 in Delta? He was insignificant but became rich and famed by looting the people’s collective resources.

In just concluded UPU-UK Convention 2024 held at the LIGHT HOUSE HALL 262-274 CAMBERWELL ROAD LONDON SE5 0AY on 25th August 2024, Ighoyota Amori and other Urhobo politicians in public offices were invited and graced the occasion with hangers on and they were praised and worshipped. They should have been challenged to account for their stewardship in such events.

What oddity and shame. What the Urhobos in Diaspora see in the advanced countries they live and work, is that how Urhobo land, Delta state and Nigeria are? Is it not shameful that these irresponsible Urhobo politicians are commended by them for nothing.

No Urhobo politician of this era since 1999 till date is worth any commendation and praise. If the Urhobos living in Diaspora don’t see anything wrong in these irresponsible Urhobo politicians it means their reputations are in doubt and questionable.

Who are Amori and others to be celebrated in Urhobo gatherings in UPU-UK Convention? These worthless politicians who live on government since 1999. They do nothing other than wrecking Delta’s treasury.

The other day Rev Francis Waive was praising Gov Sheriff Oborevwori for gifting exotic cars to lawmakers from Delta state. Are these kinds of people Urhobos in diaspora should fraternise with?

These are people who travel to UK, US, Canada and see how electricity is uninterrupted. They see the good roads. There is nothing like remote riverine communities in UK and US that can’t be accessed. London is a coastal city with River Thames all over the city of London and you won’t know.

The UK Dartford tunnel underwater of River Thames road cars drive through is not magic. The Tower Bridge in London that opens for sea vessels to pass through is real and built by British politicians. They are real.

The UK Dartford Tunnel underwater road was built by British politicians and not by spirits. Now you invite these irresponsible Urhobo politicians to make noise and then go back to continue looting. Why can’t the Urhobos in diaspora talk sense into these irresponsible Urhobo politicians?

Does Ighoyota Amori do anything other than living on government throughout his life time. The UPU-UK and UPUNA should review their annual conventions and ensure that whenever these irresponsible Urhobos attend their gatherings they should be asked questions.

We can’t pretend that all is well in Urhoboland, Delta and Nigeria.

The only credible Urhobo Association in Diaspora I know is the Urhobo Historical Society (UHS) and not UPU-UK and UPUNA that are fraternising with irresponsible Urhobo politicians who cheat on their people and under develop Urhoboland.
