The Kogi State Executive Council, on Monday, approved the appointment of Prince Matthew Opaluwa as the Attah Igala-elect.
This follows the demise of the former Attah of Igala, Michael Ameh Oboni II.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Onogwu Mohammed, said the appointment of Opaluwa followed his nomination by the kingmakers and recommendation of the committee set up by Governor Yahaya Bello to entertain all issues surrounding the selection of the new Attah.
No date has, however, been fixed for his coronation.
