Following the rules and guidelines in conducting every successful election without any hitch, 2023 election should not be carved separately but expected to follow suit.
In line with the above, here are guidelines which expected in the 2023 election..
1) The conduct of 2023 general elections should be guided by Electoral Act, 2022.
2) Election results in 2023 should be transmitted electronically in line with the 2022 Electoral Act.
3) Candidates should be educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent.
In the election of March 18, 2023, the People of Delta State voted for Chief Barr. Kenneth Gbagi to be their Governor, the announced results by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) no doubt do not reflect the expressed will of Deltans.
The election was a display of rascality, thuggery, allocation of figures, illegal thumb-printing, stuffing of ballot boxes, buying of votes, and manipulation of voters with gifts such as wrappers, food, and money, yet Gbagi followed the legal process guiding all candidates, he ensured that himself and his deputy governor are qualified.
He ( Gbagi) submitted himself for public scrutiny and attended all debates, media chats, and public functions, he was confirmed to be a man of acceptable character before the law.
His disposition towards probity and transparency announced his unblemished record in public service. Gbagi is strongly against those with alleged corrupt backgrounds, criminal records, and unexplained wealth to use their political parties and governorship ambition as a coverup.
After proving himself, he initiated a call for the scrutiny of the moral character and antecedents of those seeking Delta State 2023 governorship office, all of these proved that he never venture into the race to drag his contemporaries to court if they had listened and followed his advice to venture into the race with clean records.
The election has been conducted with obvious malpractices and Deltans were rubbed off their mandates. However, Gbagi has aligned himself with Deltans and vowed to use the Instrumentality of the law to appreciate the support given to him by the way they voted for him. He could not watch the collective will of the people being snatched. It is based on this premise that Gbagi has approached the Tribunal to challenge the outcome of the Delta State Governorship election.
Gbagi’s teeming supporters are hereby urged to remain calm, and law-abiding, and go about their normal lawful businesses, victory is sure.
