Whitemoney has been declared the winner of the Season 6 of the Big Brother Naija reality television show with the theme, ‘Shine Ya Eye,’ leaving Liquorose as the first runner up.
At the grand finale on Sunday, housemates evicted were Emmanuel, Angel, Cross, and Pere, with Whitemoney and Liquorose as the top two housemates battling for the N90m grand prize.
Born Hazel Onou, the 29-year-old contestant is one of the fans’ favourites. Fondly known as Whitemoney, the reality TV show star was born on July 6, 1992 and hails from Enugu State where he spent his early days before moving to Lagos.
During the show, Whitemoney had mentioned in several instances that he had it rough growing up. At a point, he had to sell food with his mother at a young age.
The TV star had also mentioned that part of his hustle included commercial photography and fixing generators, among others.
Leveraging the BBNaija platform, Whitemoney, who is an entrepreneur, had seized the opportunity to ‘sell his market.’ hence viewers of the show see him as a ‘typical Igbo man’ and an astute businessman.
On the show, Whitemoney also won some money.
He recently won N1m during the Johnnie Walker contest; and, during the BuyPower contest, he and Liquorose won N500,000 each.
Meanwhile, Nigerians have taken to their social media networks to congratulate Whitemoney.
In a series of tweets, iconic Nollywood actress, Uche Jombo, revealed that her faith in Whitemoney never wavered. “It is not a surprise Whitemoney won… Everyone knew he was the one from the beginning. Happy for Whitemoney, Well deserved,” she tweeted.
The winner of the season fourth edition of the reality television show, Mercy Eke, via her Twitter account, wrote, “Congratulations to Whitemoney and all Shine Ya Eyes housemates. You are all winners and the world awaits your light. Go and do exploit.”
Also, the winner of the season five edition of the show, Laycon, also congratulated Whitemoney via his Twitter page, saying, “Congratulations Whitemoney. Good luck to all the housemates, the world awaits your great exploits, go and conquer.”
Another Big Brother Naija alumni, Tacha, raised her glass to congratulate Whitemoney saying, “Congratulations Whitemoney, this is beyond N90m. Hope this recognition shapes your narrative and propagate anything you hope to do in future! Good luck.”
