Vice President Kashim Shettima, on Thursday, presided over the 140th National Economic Council meeting virtually.
During the meeting, Shettima expressed confidence and commitment in stabilising the economy.
He said in part: “We cannot be operating in isolation.
“It requires our collective efforts and commitment in the stability of the economy.
“My confidence in our ability to fix our nation comes from the unity of caucus of this council which have been demonstrated severally over the months.
“We have moved beyond mere deliberation to the implementation phase while we actually pursue our short term goals and hope to achieving our medium term and long term strategies.
“As we review the progress of the intervention and deliberations we have championed to prevent natural disasters across Nigeria, to combat crude oil theft in the Niger-Delta, to elevate the short term inflationary impact of our economic serving divisions, and to curb revenue loss, let us maintain that non of these efforts will if we are not able to faithful harness will prioritize job creation and skill development at every corner of the nation.
