VP Osinbajo To Grace Eighth Ahmadu Bello Lecture In Kano

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, is expected to attend the 8th Sir Ahmadu Bello lecture in Kano on January 28, as a Special Guest of Honour, an official has said.

Malam Abubakar Gambo, the Managing Director of the Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, said this in a statement in Kaduna on Thursday.

Gambo said that the lecture tagged ‘Reviving the Northern Traditional Institutions: Imperative for Peace and Security in Northern Nigeria’, would hold under the chairmanship of Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong.

“The annual lecture usually serves as a forum where experts, analysts, policymakers, and stakeholders converge to discuss topical issues and proffer solutions to them,” he said.

Gambo added that Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State was expected to serve as the Chief Host at the event scheduled to be held at the Coronation Hall of the Kano State Government House, Kano.

He said that dignitaries expected at the event included the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage, who would serve as the Guest Speaker at the event.

“Other eminent Nigerians who will discuss and proffer solutions on the theme include former Chief Justice of the FCT, Justice Ishaq Bello; former Vice-Chancellor, University of Makurdi, Nancy Aybe; and Usman Abubakar of the Department of Local Government and Development Studies, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria,” he said.
