President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate recruitment of 1,000 forest guards in Oyo State and directed the deployment of a specialized rescue team following the abduction of pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area.
A high-powered Federal Government delegation visited Esiele and Yawota communities on Sunday, May 31, 2026, to convey the Presidentās deep concern and commitment to securing the safe return of the victims.

The delegation, led by Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, included National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu, Defence Minister General Christopher Musa, and Special Adviser Sunday Dare.
Gbajabiamila assured residents that the rescue operation would be intelligence-led and carefully coordinated, combining both kinetic and non-kinetic measures.

The delegation also visited the Soun of Ogbomoso, HRM Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, and commiserated with the family of the deceased teacher, Mary Oyedokun.
President Tinubuās swift response aims to strengthen security and restore confidence in the affected communities.
