UPDATE ON ABIA GUBER: See Reason Labour Party, Alex Otti Deserves Some Accolades For The Win.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the gubernatorial candidate of Labour Party as the winner of the Guber election polls held on 18th March, 2023.

This was declared by the Returning Officer, Prof. Nnenna Nnannaya-Oti of INEC on Wednesday evening on the resumption of the final collation of the governorship election result in Umuahia, Abia state some hours after INEC suspended the entire exercise in the South-east state.

According to the result as revealed by INEC official, Otti defeated his closest challengers with 175,467 as against 88,529 scored by his challenger from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ahiwe and Enyinnaya Nwafor from Young Peoples Party (YPP) who managed to grab 28,972 votes.

It was also gathered that the LP has not been able to produce a governor for the past 20 years since after the reign of Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo state in 2009 to 2017 so it is really a thing of joy for the Labour Party (LP).
