In recent times, a concerning issue has arisen that demands our attention and introspection as Nigerians. The case of a girl presenting a 2021 format result of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) as her 2023 result has sparked heated debates and controversy. It is disheartening to witness the unwavering support for this individual despite overwhelming evidence suggesting her involvement in fraudulent activities.

*One cannot help but question the motives of those who choose to defend her. Is this an issue of ethnic, gender, or religious bias clouding our judgment? As responsible citizens, it is essential that we rise above these factors and focus on the pursuit of justice and truth.

JAMB, the apex examination body in Nigeria, has clearly stated that they no longer issue “Notification of Results.” Yet, the document she parades as her result is precisely that a Notification of Result. This contradiction raises serious concerns about the authenticity of her claims. It is within our best interest to ensure that the integrity of our educational institutions remains intact, regardless of who is involved.

The recent discussion on Your Views, a popular TVC news program, further muddied the waters. The commentators made insinuations against JAMB, going as far as suggesting the involvement of international investigative agencies like the FBI and Mossad. However, when Fabian came forward and exposed the girl’s deceitful actions, the same commentators suddenly fell silent. This turn of events is a clear indication that the truth is being overshadowed by biased narratives.

As concerned citizens, we must not allow ourselves to be swayed by emotions or preconceived notions. It is our duty to objectively evaluate the evidence presented before us. The facts have been laid bare, and it is evident that the girl in question has engaged in fraudulent activities. Yet, some continue to support her, turning a blind eye to the glaring evidence. This is a worrying trend that hinders the progress and development of our nation.

We must ask ourselves: Is this the path we want to take in building a new Nigeria? Are we willing to support criminals, even in the face of undeniable evidence, simply because the institution involved was previously alleged to be culpable under a different management?

Let us remember that our actions today shape the future of our nation. We have a responsibility to ensure that justice prevails, irrespective of personal affiliations or biases. Upholding the truth and supporting the institutions working towards progress will contribute to the development of a society built on transparency and integrity.

It is time for us to call ourselves to order. We must set aside personal biases and demand accountability from our fellow citizens. Only through a collective commitment to truth and justice can we foster a new Nigeria that embraces honesty, fairness, and progress.

Let us stand united, Comrades, in our pursuit of a better and more just Nigeria. Together, we can create a nation where truth prevails and criminals are held accountable, regardless of their backgrounds. It is within our power to shape a brighter future, and it starts with upholding integrity over bias.
