The announcement of Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s governorship Transition Committee last week drew some mixed reactions from different quarters. One of the major criticisms was that the number of people involved in the Transition Committee was too large and unwieldy.

Others also ignorantly accused Soludo of trying to settle some people with political patronage in appointments. While a majority of the commentators hailed the 80-member Committee saying it will evolve a workable developmental blueprint for the Soludo in-coming government

Interestingly, the full Terms of Reference for the Committee as well as its mode of operation has not even been officially announced, pending the inauguration and the first plenary sessions scheduled to take place between the 19th to 22nd January, 2022 at the Golden Tulip (Agulu Lake) Hotel, Anambra State

Unfortunately, more than a handful of commentators have already drawn their terms of reference for the Committee albeit wrongly.

The points to note are; the number of the Committee membership which has been criticised as too large is actually not large as being perceived by some of these critics.

A deep and critical understanding of the enormity of work this Committee would be saddled with, and the short period of time required to do a clinical and perfect job, might even require more members coming on board.

This is so because the 80 members will be divided into sub-committees who would be required to work round the clock to effect a smooth transition from an out-going government to an in-coming government (within a short space of time) as it is done all over the world

The issue of the Transition Committee evolving a workable developmental blueprint for Soludo government is also way off the mark. This is so because Soludo already have a well detailed and articulated developmental plan contained in his Manifesto which he has already officially unveiled to Ndi Anambra and Nigerians.

For the avoidance of doubt, the Manifesto is tagged: *”The Soludo Solution: A People’s Manifesto For A Greater Anambra”*(Available both in hardcopies and online. It can easily be accessed without qualms)

In conclusion, what this Transition Committee is expected to do as contained in the bulletin announcing its composition, is to essentially liaise with a team set up by the government of Anambra State to ensure a seamless transition from the Governor Willie Obiano’s administration to a Chukwuma Charles Soludo-led administration as from 17th March, 2022

And for those who feels that their names did not appear in the Committee list, there will be other assignments for everyone to do as Cee Cee Soludo has always maintained and emphasised during his electioneering campaign that building Anambra of our dream (a smart megacity and a livable homeland) will be a collective efforts where no one will be left behind.

So let’s not dither. Let everyone support and key-into the Soludo revolution that will change our lives for good!!
