UMEJURU DECLARES WAR ON UNDERDEVELOPMENT: INAUGURATES THREE POWERFUL COMMITTEES TO TRANSFORM ONELGA
In a bold move to revolutionize governance and spark rapid economic growth, the dynamic Executive Chairman of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA), Hon. Prince Isaac Umejuru, has unleashed a three-pronged strategy by inaugurating the ONELGA Economic Advisory Committee, the Assets Recovery Committee, and the Road Maintenance Committee in a high-stakes ceremony at the Council’s Executive Chambers in Omoku.
Declaring his administration’s unrelenting commitment to development, Hon. Umejuru described the committees as the “driving force” behind his ambitious plans for ONELGA. “We are not here to manage mediocrity; we are here to set the pace for unmatched growth. This Economic Advisory Committee will bring professional expertise to guide us into a future of prosperity,” the ONELGA Boss proclaimed.
Chairman Umejuru unveiled ongoing flagship projects, including the massive renovation of secondary schools in Egbema and Ndoni and the groundbreaking construction of Victor Igwe Mazi Lodge, the first Chairman’s Lodge to be completed within his first 100 days. He also underscored the success of Operation Light ONELGA, a transformative initiative aimed at electrifying and securing the local government area.
The Economic Advisory Committee, chaired by Chief Chinedu Ile, was tasked with delivering innovative solutions to stimulate local businesses and attract investments. “This is no ordinary task—it is a mission to rewrite the history of ONELGA’s economy,” Chief Ile declared passionately.
Adding fire to the momentum, Hon. Ambrose Sopuruchukwu Okpor, the Secretary to the Council, launched the ONELGA Assets Recovery Committee with a stern warning to individuals hoarding council assets: “The days of looting are over. This committee will leave no stone unturned in recovering what belongs to the people.”
The Road Maintenance Committee, under the leadership of Mr. Sunny Onita, was equally charged with an audacious goal—to eliminate every pothole across ONELGA in record time. Hon. Sopuruchukwu called it a “non-negotiable priority” for ensuring smooth transportation and economic activity.
Chief Gift Eleberi, leading the Assets Recovery Committee, vowed to tackle his responsibilities with unwavering determination. “We will recover every asset without fear or favor, and ONELGA will soar higher,” he declared.
