The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has entered into a strategic partnership with Pulse Africa to spotlight Lagos as Africa’s leading hub for tourism, creativity, and cultural heritage
The partnership was announced during a courtesy visit on Thursday by Pulse Media’s CEO, Ms. Katharina Link and her team to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Idris Aregbe, in Alausa.

The Special Adviser commended Pulse for consistently amplifying Nigeria’s creative industries, youth culture, and popular trends. He described the organisation as a natural partner for the state’s tourism agenda due to its strong connection with young audiences.
“Pulse is a strategic partner whose storytelling power can help us project the Lagos of our dreams. This collaboration is about amplifying Lagos to the world. Lagos gains a stronger cultural voice, while Pulse strengthens its leadership in shaping conversations around tourism, arts, and culture,” Aregbe said.
He also highlighted some of the Ministry’s flagship programmes, including: 101 Days in Lagos (September 26 – January 4), Lagos Cultural Weekend, Skill Up Lagos, Lagos Tourism NBC Trade Fair, E1 Championship and other youth-focused projects.
The Special Adviser revealed that Pulse would serve not only as a publishing partner but also as the lead media partner for the Lagos Cultural Mission.
In her remarks, Ms. Link expressed Pulse Africa’s commitment to showcasing Lagos’ creative pulse.
“Pulse is passionate about highlighting the energy, creativity, and opportunities that Lagos represents. We see ourselves as a platform that amplifies voices, spotlights hidden gems, and connects Lagos to audiences across Nigeria and beyond,” she said.
Also at the meeting was Ms. Tanaz of Awari/Lost in Lagos, who emphasised the importance of partnerships in shaping the city’s cultural identity.
She noted that collaborations between media platforms and government could redefine how Lagos is experienced globally.
In a related engagement, Mr. Aregbe also hosted Ms. Abosede Shafer and her team, organisers of the upcoming international boxing tournament Chaos in the Ring, scheduled for October 1 in Lagos.
The organisers disclosed that the event will feature over 150 athletes, including more than 50 international boxers, with global boxing icon Anthony Joshua confirming his attendance.
The tournament, they added, will integrate sports, culture, and tourism, further positioning Lagos as a global entertainment hub.
Mr. Aregbe praised the initiative, stressing that such events reinforce the state’s vision of becoming a world-class destination for tourism, culture, sports, and entertainment.
