Globally acclaimed film director Steven Spielberg leads one of the winners at the 47th The Toronto International Film Festival awards ceremony.
The TIFF announced its award recipients for the 47th edition of the festival, which concluded on Sunday night, September 18, with the closing night screening of Mary Harron’s ‘Dalíland.’
Spielberg won the TIFF 2022 People’s Choice Award for his film, ‘The Fabelmans’ at the ceremony. Other winners include Hubert Davis in the TIFF 2022 People’s Choice Documentary Award for his film, ‘Black Ice,’ and Eric Appel for ‘Weird: The Al Yankovic Story,’ in the TIFF 2022 People’s Choice Midnight Madness Award.
In the same vein, Luis De Filippis’ ‘Something You Said Last Night’ won the 2022 Changemaker Award and a $10,000 cash prize courtesy of the Shawn Mendes Foundation while the winners of the 2022 IMDbPro Short Cuts Awards received a bursary of $10,000 CAD each and a one-year membership to IMDbPro to help them continue achieving success in their careers.
