Yesterday, the Comptroller General Immigration Service, KN Nandap, pcc, mmis, fsm, received a high-level delegation from the Repatriation and Departure Service (R&DS) of the Kingdom of Netherlands who were in the country on a working visit to, amongst other things, seek ways of strengthening bilateral relationship between Nigeria and their country.
2. In her welcome remarks, the CGIS appreciated members of the team for their continuous support to country and, particularly, the Nigeria Immigration Service in the area of training of officers and men in the art of Hostmanship. A total of 6000 personnel of the Service have been trained. While extolling the longstanding and fruitful relationship between both countries, she further solicited the extension of the Hostmanship training to management staff and capacity building for personnel in the areas of technology transfer and migration management.
3. Leader of the delegation who doubles as the Deputy General Director/Director of International Affairs of R&DS of the Netherlands, Mr. Rob Bokhoven, appreciated the CGIS for her hospitality and the positive changes the Service has witnessed since her assumption of office. He pledged his country’s support in ensuring that the NIS is well positioned to tackle multifaceted migration and security challenges officers and men often encounter in the line of duties.
4. Other members of the delegation comprised of Mr. JW Konig, Senior Adviser, International Affairs (Repartriation and Departure) of the Netherlands and Ms. Eva De Wit, First Secretary, Migration of the Dutch Embassy Nigeria.
5. High point of the visit was a dinner held in honour of the guests, where the CGIS, the delegation, and top management officers of the Service further interacted to deepen international collaboration.
