The Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has alerted members of the public to the fraudulent activities of some people demanding money to assist in gaining teaching employment with the Lagos State Government.
The Permanent Secretary of TESCOM, Mrs. Bopo Oyekan-Ismaila, who issued the alert, warned members of the public not to fall victim to scammers seeking to assist in the shortlisting of applicants or sell TESCOM teaching slots to unsuspecting individuals.

She noted that online submission of applications for the recruitment of teachers into the Lagos State Public Service has just ended and informed that the Commission has not started the process of shortlisting candidates.
The Permanent Secretary emphasised that the recruitment exercise into the State public service is purely merit-based with no monetary requirements.
She advised members of the public to disregard notices being circulated through WhatsApp messages and other social media requesting monetary gratification from unsuspecting applicants to help secure TESCOM teaching slots or checking of dashboards for shortlisting of applicants.
She further advised the public to be cautious and vigilant, ensuring they do not fall victim to these scams.
