Next week, the case of alleged falsification brought against the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, by a Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, Okies, would be decided.
Deltans have urged the judges to be strong, courageous, fair but firm to sustain the ongoing improvement of public perception in the judiciary.
A source who do not want his name on print, has alleged that “the Judiciary will be implicating itself next week and the long held slogan of “Judiciary for sale” will be cemented”.
According to the source, “Removing Justice Helen Ogunwimiju on the panel of the Supreme Court justice that will determine the case of PDP vs Ikie on falsification,NOT forgery is not enough”.
The source argued that”The entire panel should have been disbanded on knowing that the ADC to my friend Sheriff is a son to a Justice who was already on the panel and would have influenced her colleagues. To further stamp it, she put Kehinde among Sheriff’s legal team.
“In a sane society, the whole panel should have been flushed out as one oil that stains a finger stains all.
“Her replacement Justice Mrs Agie during the final hearing of the case by her body language and bashing of Alex Iziyon (SAN) already gives away where the judgment will go.
“Let’s not hide it CJN, the judgment will go the way of Sheriff and Ikie will lose, not because he deserves to lose but the Judiciary successfully bought over and infiltrated by one D.D using a removed Justice.
“With the judgment already written and merely waiting for the jamboree pronouncement next week, my Lord, the Supreme Justices should please take a full page in ALL National dailies and take 2 minutes airtime in all TV stations to apologise to David Lyon of Bayelsa State who they removed on same certificate issues.
“And my Dear CJN should also make a pronouncements that henceforth anyone cannot be punished when he lies under oath during his INEC filling and restore back ALL candidates that were sacked on that basis.
“We do not expect the Judiciary to start conflicting itself in giving judgments dictated by dollars.
“It is crystal clear already that Judges now lobby to be posted to cases involving Delta State Government and PDP because of the heavy dollars the state doles out to them to influence cases.
“No wonder for the first time they are angry with the governorship tribunal that they have been unable to penetrate despite over N4 billion kept aside for it.
“The understanding by Deltans is that the Judges are used to feast on Delta State wealth and this cannot continue. It’s a matter of time and the secret of all the monies that exchanged hands in the course of this case will be revealed and their mansions unearthed. We are getting there and will close in on them.
“The CJN should immediately rise to the occasion of this case that’s about to be delivered next week and save it from National and international ridicule.
“Or should there be an #EndJudiciary first like we did #EndSARS before judgment will be given freely and not bought”, he queried.
