Still on Rivers Crisis: Ijaw Youths Takes Charge at Port Harcourt LGA…details

Reports has shown how the Ijaw youths camped at the Port Harcourt Local Government Area, well seated around multiple canopies, chanting songs, dancing, and waving the Ijaw Youth Congress flags.

It is gathered that the Youths of Ijaw extraction on Tuesday took over the entrance to the council headquarters of Port Harcourt Local Government Area in Rivers State.

Placards at the canopies boldly display solidarity messages for Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State.

There is a heavy security presence in the area as armed policemen are also on the ground monitoring the situation.

Even though the council gates are however shut as today is a public holiday. But the Chairman of the Eastern Zone of the Ijaw Youth Council says he and his members are to show solidarity with the governor and that no chairman will be allowed to stay beyond their tenures.
