Sony Launches Improved Camera

Sony Middle East and Africa in partnership with Kontakt Pro Nigeria Limited has launched Sony’s cinema line cameras in Lagos.

During the exhibition, product presentations and discussions with Sony experts from UAE and Japan, the company announced the arrival of its newest addition to the brand’s cinema line,the FX30.

Product Marketing Manager at Sony Middle East & Africa, Arvin Orsua, stated that Sony is committed “to make the life of a cinematographer easy,”.

According to Orsua, Sony fulfills its promise to support creators’ needs with camera features that make operation simple and output outstanding.”

The Country Manager for Product Marketing, Nigeria, Ms Bukola Oloyede, explained that the company was dedicating the new product to the next generation of motion picture storytellers.

She urged everyone to become members of the Alpha Universe platform because, “It’s a great resource for providing members with access to more peering reviews, educational content, talent showcasing and information about Sony’s growing influence, product line and competitive awards, not just in Nigeria but across the Middle East and Africa region.”

According to Orsua, Nigeria needs a conducive business environment and access to credit that would impact positively on sales and business environments.

“We hope the market will become more conducive for those that want to buy the camera. In other countries, filmmakers can buy cameras on credit and pay gradually, the interest on loans is small. These things are affecting us in Nigeria.

The statement said Sony had worked with the creative community by providing support and supplying tools made by Cinematographers for Cinematographers.

The Head of Digital Imaging at Sony Middle East & Africa, Sajeer Shamsu, noted that the “New FX30 is a great fit for anyone looking to get started in filmmaking.”
