….organises Free Medical Outreach for Residents to Mark Y2024 Nurses Week
The General Hospital Somolu has called on nurses in Lagos State to raise the bar of excellence towards delivering quality healthcare services to patients, just as it organised free medical outreach for residents in marking the 2024 Nurses Week with the theme “Our Nurses, Our Future: The Economic Power of Care”.
The Apex Nurse of the Hospital, Mrs. Philomena Ihiator Whyte made the call during a two-day event organised to celebrate the Y2024 Nurses Week at the facility recently, noting that nurses are precious gifts to humanity.
According to her, nurses restore patients to life through their caring nature. Besides, they are also endowed with the ability to make
the impossible possible even when all hope is lost.
While enjoining Nurses at the General Hospital Somolu to deliver excellent services required for health stability, Whyte advised them to raise the bar in their profession by being good counsellors, educators and caregivers such that their actions will serve as good testimonies for the hospital.
The high point of the two-day event was an awareness campaign targeted at residents of Somolu on the importance of nurses to mankind as well as free medical outreach for the people.
