SOLUDO, OBIANO ATTEND MOST REV’D JONAS BENSON OKOYE’S INSTALLATION AS NEW BISHOP OF NNEWI CATHOLIC DIOCESE

Earlier today, Thursday, February 10, 2022 Anambra State Governor-elect, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo and the State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano were among the very important guests who graced the formal installation of His Lordship, Most Rev’d Jonas Benson Okoye as the new Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese.

The official installation took place at Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral, Nnewi, Anambra State. The solemn ceremony also attracted eminent personalities from both the business and political arena. This include: Billionaire businessman Chief Cletus Ibeto(Omekannia) Distinguished Senators Victor Umeh, Ifeanyi Ubah, Uche Lilian Ekwunife; the National Chairman of APGA, Ozonkpu Dr. Victor Ike Oye, the State chairman Sir Norbert Obi (Ugobuezennunu).

Others include the former Governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi, the Traditional Ruler of Nnewi, HRH Igwe Kenneth Orizu (Igwe Orizu III); the Chairman/C.E.O of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company (IVM); Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma OFR; the C.E.O of Jezco Oil, Chief Sir Joseph Ezeokafor and Chief Sir Ikenna Okafor (Ide Akwaeze) among others.

The newly installed Bishop Jonas Benson Okoye was before now the Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Diocese until his elevation to the new position as successor to the pioneer Emeritus-Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Hilary Odili Okeke who recently retired.
