SOLUDO INSPECTS AKPAKA/FEDERAL HOUSING/MALE HOSTEL DRIVE/AKPAKA-NSUGBE ROAD, SAYS APGA KEEPS PROMISES

Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has inspected three select roads in Onitsha.
The roads are; Akpaka Road (2.896Km), Federal Housing Link Road (972m), Spur to 3-3, Male Hostel Drive (585m).
Also inspected was the 3.341 km Akpaka-Nsugbe Road.
Rehabilitation and reconstruction of the roads is being handled by Tec Engineering Nigeria LTD.
Speaking during the inspection, Governor Soludo said the visit was in keeping to his promise, describing APGA as the people’s Party. He urged the indigenes of Onitsha to vote for the party.
Governor Soludo further stated that: “In 2016, my predecessor begged me to support his second term bid and in return, in 2021, he did the same for me, implying that promises were kept. If we make a promise, we keep it”.
The Governor expressed his displeasure that the Akpaka/Federal Housing road was still 20 percent completed and asked the contractor to ensure that half of the road is asphalted at his next visit by the end of March. He stressed that if otherwise, the contract will be revoked.
Speaking on the Nsugbe road, the Governor said; “I’m here to officially flag-off and inspect the construction of this road. I’ve heard that the only way to get from Onitsha to Nsugbe is through 3-3, which usually cause problems for the people due to the heavy traffic congestion.
“We decided to fix the road to lessen the suffering of the people after learning that there is a shorter route from here to Onitsha through Akpaka.
He expressed optimsm that with the people’s support, APGA will win the forthcoming election, urging them to support all APGA Candidates.
The Governor used the opportunity to reiterate that the National Census is underway. He urged the people to stand to be counted. He advised that resources in the country are distributed based on the population of each community.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Transition Committee Chairman for Onitsha North, Hon. Charles Ozoma told the people that the roads being construction by Soludo’s government will change their lives when completed. He urged the people to continue supporting Governor Soludo and APGA.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Legal Matters, Barr. Tochukwu Nweke explained that the Onitsha-Nsugbe road will usher in quick development of the area.
The Provost Nawfor Orizu College of Education Nsugbe, Dr. Ifeanyinwa Osegbo opined that when the road is completed, it will significantly bring succour to the staff of the college. She thanked the Governor for remembering them.
Chairman of Anambra State Traditional Rulers’ Council, and Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe, the Commissioner for Youth, Mr. Patrick Aghamba, Chief Protocol, Hon Chinedu Nwoye; APGA Publicity Secretary, Mr.Tex Okechukwu, among others attended the events.
