Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has joined millions of Nigerians across the nation in celebrating the Super Eagles’ emphatic 2-0 victory on Saturday over fierce rivals Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions in the Round of 16-match of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The governor, reacting to the emphatic victory on Saturday, described the Super Eagles’ performance as “heroic, scintillating, and a display of true Nigerian spirit.”
He commended the team’s tactical discipline, relentless attacking play, and formidable defending, which ultimately secured a well-deserved win at the historic Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
“This win against Cameroon is not just a victory on the pitch; it is a victory for the entire Nigeria,” Governor Soludo declared.
“The Super Eagles have once again united Nigerians under the banner of football, reminding us of the collective strength and resilience that resides within us as a people.”
With this triumph, the Super Eagles have booked their place in the AFCON quarter-finals, where they will face Angola on February 2nd.
As the team marches towards a potential fourth continental title, Governor Soludo expressed his unreserved support and urged the players to “give their absolute best in their remaining matches.”
Governor Soludo also urged Nigerians at home and abroad to continue supporting the Super Eagles with unwavering passion and belief.
