SOLUDO COMMENDS LATE CHINWOKE MBADINUJU’S EFFORTS AS FORMER GOVERNOR, SAYS HE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has paid his respects to the former State Governor, late Dr. Chinwoke Clement Mbadinuju (Odera), who passed away at the age of 77.
Governor Soludo paid the eulogies when he attended the State Commendation Ceremony for Dr. Mbadinuju at the International Convention Centre in Awka.
In his speech, he thanked everyone for sacrificing their time to honour Odera’s legacy.
“On behalf of myself, my family, and the people of Anambra, I extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Mbadinuju for his selfless service to our state,” Governor Soludo said.
Governor Soludo recalled the challenges that Anambra faced during Dr. Mbadinuju’s tenure as Governor, including widespread insecurity and economic hardship.
He praised his efforts to address these challenges, including the establishment of the state Vigilante services boys to combat crime.
“In spite of the challenges he faced, Dr. Mbadinuju never gave up on Anambra.
“He was a man of faith who believed that things would get better. And they did”; Governor Soludo said.
Governor Soludo also noted Odera’s commitment to prayer, which he said was an important part of his leadership style.
“Dr. Mbadinuju understood the importance of prayer.
“He knew that we could not overcome our challenges without God’s help.”
Governor Soludo concluded his remarks by saying that Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju will never be forgotten.
“Dr. Mbadinuju was a true servant of the people.
“He will be remembered for his dedication to our state and his unwavering faith in our people.”
The solemn event featured presentation of books about Odera’s life by the late Governor’s family, books that will be a valuable addition to the State Library, to ensure that Dr. Mbadinuju’s legacy is never forgotten.
Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju served as Governor of Anambra State from 1999 to 2003. He is credited with laying the foundation for the state’s modern infrastructure.
Earlier, in his opening remarks, the Chairman of the event, Dr. ABC Orjiakor thanked Governor Soludo for his tireless efforts in honoring and celebrating the late Dr. Mbadinuju.
He disclosed that former Governor Mbadinuju was a God-fearing man who was humble, easily approachable, and most notably, dedicated to serving the people of Anambra.
Former Anambra Governors, Dr. Chris Ngige, Dame Virgy Etiaba, Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Former Deputy Governors, Dr. Chinedu Emeka, Dr. Emeka Sibeudu, Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt Hon somtochukwu Udeze, wife of Nigeria’s former Vice President, Ifeoma Ekwueme, Amb. Bianca Ojukwu, Senator Uche Ekwunife, Members of Anambra State Executive Council, Members of Anambra State Legislature, Transition Committee Chairmen, Service Commanders, Presidents-General, Traditional Rulers among others attended the event.
