…PROMISES TO IMPROVE ON WORKERS’ WELFARE,
…AS OBIANO DECLARES THURSDAY AND FRIDAY PUBLIC HOLIDAYS FOR CIVIL SERVANTS
Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo has declared that he will improve on the welfare of the workers of Anambra State if elected governor.
Cee Cee Soludo made this remark while celebrating the 2021 Public Service Day with the civil servants in Anambra at the state secretariat, Awka.
Cee Cee Soludo who attended the event with Governor Willie Obiano said he will consolidate on the achievements of Obiano by building on the infrastructural development he has put in place in the state.
He said with the commencement of commercial flights at the State International Cargo and Passenger Airport, the world will come to Anambra State and he will take Anambra State to the world.
He charged the workers to come out on Saturday to cast their votes for APGA and the Soludo/Ibezim ticket, stressing that this is the only way to guarantee their regular salary payment and other incentives they have enjoyed over the past seven and half years in Governor Willie Obiano’s administration.
Earlier, Barrister Harry Udu, Head of Service, Anambra State, had commended Governor Willie Obiano for the prompt payment of salary for tworkers and pensioners’ pension as well as the general welfare of the state workers.
Governor Obiano in his response thanked the workers for their support in the past seven and half years he has been governor. He assured them that Soludo will do more in regards to their welfare. He therefore urged them to come out enmasse this Saturday to vote APGA and Soludo/Ibezim as a way of guaranteeing their welfare.
He subsequently declared Thursday 4th and Friday 5th respectively, as public holidays to enable the workers collect their voters card from designated INEC offices as well as travel to their respective villages to cast their vote on Saturday.
Chiwetalu Agu, a popular Nollywood actor, who was a guest at the event, commended Governor Obiano for the wonderful work he has done in the state. He called on the people to vote massively for Soludo, adding that he is the best and most qualified governorship candidate to succeed Obiano.
Dr. (Mrs) Nwando Obiano, from the ministry of Basic Education, who gave the vote of thanks, said the entire workforce of Anambra state will vote for continuity. She commended Obiano for his exceptional achievements, describing him as a good leader who has always shown concerns for the workers by sharing in their problems and aspirations.
She added that throughout his regime there has not been industrial dispute but excellent industrial harmony between the workers and the state government.
She therefore expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the workers in Anambra to Governor Obiano.
